TRADITIONS AND CULTURES

It's so obvious we have been following the dead for a long time all in the name of tradition and culture.
Culture is a way of life. Who says it has to be ancient or archaic?
We pride ourselves as the most advanced or civilized beings to have lived. Whereas, we simply follow the traditions that have been handed down to us.

There is nothing new and fresh about us. Tradition and culture have crippled us. Nothing new. Even in the religious sect, it's always a God that was presented thousands of years ago by a civilization that we worship.

And these people were rebellious against the order of their time. What's stopping us? To imagine that folks still serve the God that Abraham worshipped.
A God that Moses presented.
Follow the ways the Apostles of Jesus laid down.
It's simply sheer ignorance.

So God chose a special set of people and civilization and decided or dictated to them how He must be worshipped. And this doesn't have to change for thousand of years. We just have to follow the ways like zombies without questioning.
If we'll go through the Bible. Even God evolved. Should I say the worship of God evolved.

Abram left paganism to build altars in orders to worship God. It continued for year until Moses came.
He changed the order for God's people. They began animal sacrilege.
God became exclusive to the Levites and Priests.

After a while, the order changed. Prophets or People that were not Levites or Priests spoke for God. Though, they didn't give a way for worship.
Eventually, Jesus came, he nullified the existing order. He gave a new way. He told them that it'd have to be in spirit and truth.

If these orders keep changing or evolving, why do have to be primitive in our understanding? It's either God is evolving or these men are delusional about their claims in matters of worship.

In our tribal system, we have some stupid cultures and traditions that need to be eradicated. They may have their usefulness then.
However, most of it are irrelevant.
Aren't we sane to create our own way of life/living? Why does it have to be what the ancient ancestors have laid down for us?

In my community, a woman lost her husband July last year. She has been putting on one cloth since then.
(NOTE: It's a tradition amongst the Yoruba tribe or people in Nigeria that a widow wears a single cloth for a year to mourn the loss of her husband)

As per tradition, she even wears this same cloth to work, market etc
I kept on asking the benefit of this. Yes, I know our ancestors weren't fools. They had reasons for such tradition. However, the world has evolved.
Like, is it still necessary? Who cares about clothing? If it's for identification, people already know she has lost her husband.
It's no longer news.

And some others like that. There is this one we copied from the west. Proposal of a thing. Am I the only thinking differently? Two sane people are in a relationship, they talk about Marriage, fantasize about it, look forward to it.
And one is still expecting to make it special by asking if she wants to be one's wife.
What have we been doing? Why do I need it to make it a special occasion? Or make a big deal out of it?
Total nonsense.

In this our life, awakening is really paramount. And the only antidote is to think and question the status quo.
We have too many sleepers and zombies.
Afraid to use their brains. Afraid to think.
Let's just follow the crowd. Let's do what others are doing.

Humanity can't evolve like this. We'll be stuck in the past. We won't live the present.
Years will pass and we'll still be living the civilization of thousands of years ago.
Living in the Education of years before us or those before us.

And it's the cancer that has bedeviled our formal Education system. Nothing new. It's always something Aristotle, Darwin, Freud etc have said we developed
our theories from.
What ancient philosophers or scientists have accomplished.
Science evolved a bit.
You see the Educational sector, nothing has changed.
I've been in the system, it's always about the 14th, 15th, 16th century philosophers.

Enough of mediocrity. Enough of slumber. We need to create our own ways.
And live our own ways.
Create our own cultures and traditions.
Live our own illusions.
And that's vitality in living.
