BELIEFS AND IDEOLOGIES

If we sit down and begin to pull the threads of our beliefs or ideologies one after the other, we'd discover that most of the things we hold on unto aren't ours. 

When a child is born, his mind is a tabula rasa (blank mind). He knows neither good nor bad, saint nor sinner, right nor wrong. 

It's just bliss. He has no identity. He's not a Muslim or Christian or Buddhist.
He is not white or black, Nigerian or American.
Just Human being.

When He begins to grow up, he begins to receive education from the parents, society and other institutions. These education condition him to begin to think and act in a certain way.
After a long period of time, he becomes one with his beliefs.
And they become his identity and personality.

He begins to separate himself from those that don't share his religious beliefs. Some may end up killing fellow human beings in the name of fighting for his God.
If he was born in a rich home , he sees those that are poor as lesser than him.

His environment together with his genetic make up gives him a skin color that is believed to be superior than other.
Hence, he becomes a racist. He hates a fellow that doesn't share the same skin color as his.

It's so saddening that we have found different ways to divide ourselves. As someone said, 'if we all have the same skin color, we'd still look for other means to divide ourselves. Probably, our heights. Those that are tall would be the superior beings.'
No man is born with a religion or belief. We were all conditioned by the society or existing institutions. 

Folks still find it hard to believe that it's one's geographical location and family that determine one's beliefs and ideologies.
As I once said,' you are what you are as a result of the education/conditioning you received.'

My message is that it's imperative we return to being children/babies.

Destroy the walls that divide us.
Return to the state when our minds haven't been conditioned.
And we experience bliss. 
This is true religion.
